Cabir

Cabir definition - computer

The first smartphone virus discovered on Symbian-based cellphones. Placed in the wild in the summer of 2004 as a proof of concept, the Cabir worm exploited a vulnerability in Bluetooth and replicated itself to other Bluetooth-enabled cellphones. The Cabir worm presented itself to users as the "Caribe Security Manager" and was installed as the CARIBE.SIS file. Cabir was benign but drained the battery as it continuously sought other Bluetooth connections. See smartphone virus and Bluetooth virus.
