Borland Database Engine
Software from Borland that runs on a Windows client and unifies database access across multiple platforms. Using Borland's own IDAPI interface, it provides a middleware layer between the client and numerous databases, including dBASE, Paradox, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Informix, Interbase and ODBC-compliant databases. It used to be available separately, but has since been built into all of Borland's language products.
