AutoCAD

AutoCAD definition - computer

A full-featured CAD program from Autodesk that runs on PCs, Macs and Unix workstations. AutoCAD is a de facto standard with numerous add-ons available for enhanced functionality. Originally developed for CP/M machines in the early 1980s, AutoCAD was one of the first CAD programs for personal computers. Most graphics applications import and export AutoCAD's native DXF file format. AutoCAD LT is an entry-level version for Windows. See AutoSketch.
