ATSC definition - computer

(Advanced Television Systems Committee) An international digital television (DTV) standard adopted by the U.S., Canada, South Korea, Taiwan and Argentina. Broadcast over the air (terrestrial), via satellite or cable, ATSC transmits in a 6 MHz channel and uses MPEG-2 video compression and Dolby Digital audio compression.
