ARRL definition - computer

(American Radio Relay League, Newington, CT, www.arrl.org) A membership organization founded in 1914 by Hiram Percy Maxim that provided a sounding board for amateur radio operators in the U.S. Growing from a handful of radio experimenters to more than 160,000 today, the ARRL promotes interest in amateur radio communications and experimentation. It represents U.S. radio amateurs in legislative matters and maintains a standard of conduct among radio operators.
