Archistrat computer definition - computer

An earlier upgradable computer system from The Panda Project, Inc., Boca Raton, FL. It was designed to accommodate future technologies by using a high-bandwidth backplane up to 256 bits wide that CPU and peripheral boards plugged into. The first Intel-based Archistrat shipped in 1995, but production ceased in 1998. See VSPA and Compass connector.
