(Asynchronous Ruby And XML) An enhancement from Microsoft that enables Ruby programmers to perform AJAX functions in Ruby rather than JavaScript. Introduced in 2008 to enhance Microsoft's Silverlight rich client development platform, ARAX eliminates the need for Ruby programmers to switch to JavaScript in order to use AJAX.
