alphanumerish
From "alphanumeric," meaning a combination of letters and digits, alphanumerish uses digits and single letters as shorthand for words. It came about as more and more people send and receive short messages on tiny PDA, pager and cellphone screens. For example, 2U means "to you." UR means "you are." See emoticon.
