AIX

AIX definition - computer

(Advanced Interactive eXecutive) IBM's Unix-based operating system which runs on its Intellistation workstations and pSeries, p5, iSeries and i5 server families. Originally based on AT&T's Unix System V with Berkeley extensions, it conforms to the Open Group's UNIX 98 Base Brand industry standard. In the past, AIX has also been available on other IBM platforms, including the RT and PC.
