Adobe Type Manager

Adobe Type Manager definition - computer

Software from Adobe that was used with earlier versions of Mac and Windows for printing Type 1 PostScript fonts on non-PostScript printers. Adobe Type Manager (ATM) was built into the OS/2 and NeXTstep operating systems and was originally developed to provide WYSIWYG screen fonts for the Mac. Since Windows, starting with Windows 2000, and Mac OS X natively support Type 1 fonts, ATM was no longer required. See PostScript.
