a:install

a:install definition - computer

The command line in DOS and Windows that installs an application from a floppy disk inserted into the A: drive. If the floppy were in drive B:, the command would be b:install. Earlier floppy-based installation programs were generally run with an a:install or a:setup command, although they sometimes had other names.
