4DOS
An earlier command processor from JP Software, Inc., Chestertown, MD (www.jpsoft.com) that replaced the DOS COMMAND.COM file. It included enhanced commands that allowed multiple files to be referenced with a single command. For example, files with different names could be copied with one copy statement, rather than one statement for each file. 4DOS ran under Windows 95/98, while 4NT replaced the CMD.EXE file in NT and subsequent versions of Windows. 4DOS and 4NT were superseded by JP Software's Take Command family. See command processor.
