You can’t teach an old dog new tricks
You can’t teach an old dog new tricks is an idiomatic expression that suggests that people are comfortable doing things the way they have always done them. For example:
A teacher who has used one method of teaching reading is reluctant to change to another method.
People with little or no computer experience have a hard time adapting to computerization.
A business man who accustomed to a wearing a suit and tie may be uncomfortable in a casual environment.

The ranking are based strictly on the number of posts. 25 = Junior Member, 50 = Member, 100 = Senior Member, 6218 = Obsessed

I have had dogs all my life, and have always been able to teach them new things, even after they are over 10+ years. Perhaps dogs are more adaptable than humans.

You could try staying at kennels instead on hotels.
