Katsina dolls were made by Hopi Indians and were thought to have magical powers.
Piñon (plural piñones) is a pine nut. Piñones might have been burned by the Hopis to create an aroma during ceremonies.

See http://www.collectorsguide.com/fa/fa113.shtml

This is a long shot, but it might be useful if your study relates to Hopis or cultural mythology.

You can also try Kachina , an alternate spelling. Also Navajo.
Pinon is the seed of the pine.

I have a number of Kachina, or Katsina. They represent different spirits.
