Yes, cosmic and saparris say I’m crabby.  They should see me when I am really crabby. I don’t see it however, just plain blunt is what I see myself to be.

How about direct? Sounds better that blunt.

That reminds me of the curious fact that blunt and sharp can be near-synonyms.

1. He had some blunt words to say to me.
2. He had some sharp words to say to me.

A bit like expressing yourself in an unexpressive manner.

Near synonyms. Interesting.  Blunt/sharp.  I can buy both.

In crochet it is a hook. No needles involved.  Good therapy when in a foul mood as well.

Crochet hooks are blunt at the end, both ends for that matter.  No sharpness to them.

I reupholstered an old chair that once belonged to my grandmother and found a crochet hook inside. Must have been at least 50 years old.

She used to tatt as well, which is making the kind of lace (tatting) you see on baby clothes.

Yes, tat, is in crosswords.
Did you keep or sell as antique, the crochet hook?

I kept it to remind me of her, except that she wasn’t skinny and blunt. She was short, plump, and sweet, somewhat like a yam.

My grandmother was 4’10” and wore a size four shoe. My grandfather was about 5’9” and weighed in at 120. I always thought he was a giant until I grew up and realized that he was just skinny.

Gotta go the the nursing home.
