Pricy should be regarded ONLY as slang or with some disapproval the “informal” category. Better yet, it shouldn’t be listed. It’s funny how many people use slang, which don’t constitute actual words persay, yet ON TOP of that farce they spell it wrong ~:( SO, being the stickler I am.. and noticing that it was up only on THIS “amateurish” site as an acceptable form of the word- I would think it necessary to remove it from this site to prevent future students/writers from making this mistake. I represent another online dictionary, and strive to keep our language intact and accurate. Being so, I won’t say which one but will inform you that it is in the 2nd-3rd range of “most used/hit” dictionary search engines. Having the capability to connect words in ways we have forgot, even providing approved examples of assonance or synonymous words for poetry or even just important documents that need a flashy point. Lastly, speaking of points.. accuracy and presentation of your writing/typing; in e-mails, blogs, twitters, snail-mail, etc. etc. is PARAMOUNT in making your readers FEEL and BELIEVE you as a person and not just as text on a flat-panel monitor they can discount (Or ‘e-assault’ via cheap and ‘grammar-bastardized’ english that particular uneducated or inbred reader spits back at you) Forums are a great testing ground.. so have at it. Class Dismissed.

Point of post: THE WORD IS SPELT PRICEY, NOT “PRICY.”

Pronunciation: (Pri-see) .. Ya I’m too lazy to look up the “pronun-symbol alt-command numeric codes” so there’s a layman’s method. If I memorized that… I think I might be a little over-the-top wink

Thanks for your attention to this issue, and no.. I won’t accept any arguements on this subject as there is no recourse to vie opposition to my claims and final statement for the subject.

  Yours truely,

- The GOD of Articulation (Now heading back to maintain order on our site, PCE doods n broads!)

Oh, and I won’t list my corp-email but if ANYONE ever has questions feel free to drop a simple reply in my threads. I might make more clarification threads or suggestions for improvement/clarity, but that depends on my motivation to help a quasi-legitimate online dictionary/search engine. For all I know my code could be stolen at any minute and replicated on another “mom-and-pop” e-dictionary. Coding is HARD WORK, and yet the easiest to steal and claim as your own success in little, effortless time. So I do stop around to check out the competetor’s attempts, and will be here to help and poke at people’s mistakes. Yes, it IS constructive criticism even though I can be verbose in presentation (While always using perfect spelling/grammar!!!) wink I’m not some a-hole, nor a collegate proffessor of any type. So, don’t take my obvious stance and opinionating of fact simply as banter from a huge douche. There’s a load of sarcasm even in my thread and poll here, I hope it’s felt through what I mean and what I mean to influence/manipulate. (Ya, my use of “/” shows how annoyed I can get deciding on the right word to use. It came from the building of our word-web-widget ‘W.W.W.” software) You can call it, erd-eb-idget if you want.. Sarcasm again people, my apologies =)

Ok, so I’m rambling again… but I felt I needed to make the latter clear to anyone actually pulled into reading this “introduction thread” lol.

Again, my solemn intents of peace…

- The GOD of Articulation (Now heading up to take a late-night piss)

PS: Fuck Twitter, I enjoy privacy…. especially yours! =D

PPS: Notice, and behold!!! The correct spelling of another disputed word- Yours. It should NEVER have an apostrophe

Dear God
I accept that “pricey” is correct, but what the hell is “persay”? Is it related to the latin phrase “per se”, meaning “in or by itself”?

Yes.
Recently some not-so-smarts have decided to create the word and spell it out.

God of Articulation

The God of Articulation should learn to write, spell, and punctuate before given himself such a title.

The Gonad of Articulation

He seems to have what it takes for that title.

I’m just glad he didn’t call himself the Articulation of God, since that would make him a false prophet.

Where do these polls at the top of this thread (and others sometimes) come from? What are they for? The site, or a poster?

I don’t know. I was afraid to vote for fear that might be chastised by the God of Articulation.

If it’s a forum thing, it would be nice to know (and nice to know the results). But there should be a “Frankly, Scarlett” choice as well.

They have appeared now and then over the time I’ve been here.  And a “Frankly, Scarlett” choice most definitely should be included.  There are only three votes and four little green spots, interesting.

As long as they have appeared before, I’ll give it a try.

Well, did you?
Mine still says only three have voted.  I think it is silly.  No explanation as to what for, who for, why, etc. Has to be site originated, who else could put it there. But what does it refer to??

Whenever someone starts a new thread, there is an option to “Add a poll to this topic”.

By the way, I was the one who voted for the third option in the above poll.  tongue rolleye
