New topic to replace advertising.
Affray:  a tumultuous assault, a brawl.
An affray happened outside the stadium when the fans decided that the referees had chosen the wrong team to win, even tho’ it was a team effort and victory
  not a referee decision.

Hey Luke,

What do you mean by New topic to replace advertising?...

Sometimes, a few times a week, there is someone who comes on the site advertising some product.  Sometimes it is pornography. Most of the time the
administration of the site eliminates the advertisement. Sometimes I catch it before they do, and I write them telling them where to find it, and they
get to it really fast.  Sometimes the advertisement is a minimal thing, not really worth their time, so I just post a new topic, or go tothe Word of the Day
section in forum or the Forum itself, and bring back a word from previous discussion.  It gets the ‘advertisement’ off the forum listings. I think this
‘affray’ was a new topic, if I remember correctly.

Not a problem. Sometimes I don’t express myself clearly.

There’s a very usefull website for current time all over the world: http://timeanddate.com/

P.S. How is the city called you live in?

EXCELLENT!
thanks much.
I live in Omaha, Nebraska - right in the middle of the USA, almost the exact geographical center, if Alaska and Hawai"i were not states.  I think that now they are, the geographical center
is in Canada or the Pacific Ocean or some odd place.  At any rate the state is Nebraska, which means “flat water”.  It is a Native American (U-ma-hah nation) word and it means ‘flat water’ -
there is a river running thru the middle of the state from west to east, today callled the Platte, which is French for “flat”.  It is about a mile wide, yet one can walk across it almost anywhere.
There is a joke it: the Platte: a mile wide and an inch deep; too thin to plow, too thick to drink. The city is Omaha, on the very east end, on the Missouri River, it is the largest city in the state,
about a half million.

Good morning Luke,

In return here’s my share of background of Vilnius. It’s population is over half a million people. The name is the same as the river passing by, more of stream actually. The city name, Vilnius, is a masculine form and Vilnia is a feminine form. According to legend, though, Gediminas (Grand Duke) dreamt of an iron wolf howling on a hilltop and consulted a pagan priest for its interpretation. He was told: “What is destined for the ruler and the State of Lithuania, is thus: the Iron Wolf represents a castle and a city which will be established by you on this site. This city will be the capital of the Lithuanian lands and the dwelling of their rulers, and the glory of their deeds shall echo throughout the world”.
We have another river passing through the city. It’s called Neris (this one is an actual river grin ).
