I presume he answers that question in that site.

If I get some time, I’ll try and find it.  I myself have always wondered about it.  Here in the States they call the Australian airline Qantas : Kwantas, as if there was a U after the Q.  Beats me.

Luck? I don’t know anything about luck. I’ve never banked on it, and I’m afraid of people who do. Luck to me is something else: Hard work—and realizing what is opportunity and what isn’t.

The rule (with exceptions) is:
‘I before E, except AFTER ‘c’,  -hence, deceive, receive, conceive, etc.
or sounding like A in Neighbor or Weigh. (long A)
But there are so many crazy exceptions that in England they are trying to get teachers to never teach it again.  Exceptions: their, veil, etc.

My mom home schooled me and we used to fight about this all the time. It was so darn confusing!

“Facetious” contains all the vowels in the correct order.

That was a discussion a number of months back.  Search “facetious” and you’ll find a bunch more like it.

This is more of a Tongue twister to me.
I wonder if Qantas/Kwantas an English word.
Prior to my query Q before U

They pronounce it with a KW sound here.  I don’t know why.  Should ask Doug he’s an aussie.
