I’m sure there are nice people in Gaffney, but it has a reputation.

There are towns all around like that. East Dubuque, IL, had one when I lived in Dubuque.

There are lots of little towns around here where they steal your portmanteau. You just learn to avoid them.

Don’t ever claim to be a ‘friendly’ state from now on. My portfolio might be in my portmanteau, and I’d not appreciate it being portered out of my possession.

Out this-a-way you check your guns at the local sheriff before entering town.  Sounds like caroliner could use a good sheriff or three.

Every state has spiders and snakes living among more friendly animals. You just learn not to poke around in dark places.

We have our share of cordial folk.

Ireland’s portmanteau has no snakes.
I like spiders, had one as a pet once, one of those big taratula’s,  but it ate spiders smaller than it.

But Ireland has potatoes, which shed their skins.

The potatoes were American Indian before ever being introduced to Ireland.
And as for shedding skin, snakes are nice people.  Met one a couple years back, small rattler at a campt site I was visiting.

Nary a problem. I’ve got the easier part of the deal, by the way.
