Discuss assimilation here.

noun

1) The act or process of assimilating, i.e., of making one being, person, or thing similar to another; the state of being so assimilated.

“It is as well the instinct as duty of our nature to aspire to an assimilation with God, even the most laudable and generous ambition.” - Decay of Piety

2) The process by which an animal or a plant converts into textures, identical with its own, such foreign molecules as are fitted for its nutriment.

“These two processes, excretion, or the expulsion of effete particles, and assimilation of substances from without, are necessarily mutually dependent.” - Todd & Bowman

[Latin assimulatio = likeness, similarity.]

Assimilation with God: to be one with the main principal of the universe. Heaven??

Heaven was discussed here before.  This could have been a good conclusion.

The quintessential assimilator is the sponge.
How I wish some kids I taught had sponges in the head instead of whatever they did not assimilate. Some would be
productive citizens today, and not incarcerated, hospitalized, or dead.

I am sure every parent wishes the same for his/her children. Yet they must make mistakes themselves to grow.
But it does hurt.

Assimilation with God: to be one with the main principal of the universe

The quote says, “It is as well the instinct as duty of our nature to aspire to an assimilation with God, even the most laudable and generous ambition.” To aspire an assimilation and to become assimilated are not the same.

At least not among us dunkers.

My point is that one cannot truly be assimilated with God. We can only aspire.

p.s. Was there supposed to be a point?
