I don’t think you can go outstate on the east coast and find a county without a town. However, there are lots of areas between Columbia and Charleston that are pretty remote.

mc90046 is stating something you never learned; that YOU SAY ‘OUTSTATE’ IN SOUTH CAROLINER TOO, Just because you never heard the term: outstate is the area between colubia and Charleyville.
