That depends. The weekend refers to a particular weekend. Weekends refer to them in general.

I am looking forward to the weekend.
I will be in town during the weekend.
I stay at home on weekends.
I’ll be home this weekend, next weekend, two weekends from now, or weekend after next.
I’ll be home the first weekend in June.
Have a good weekend.
Let’s have a weekend getaway.

Luck? I don’t know anything about luck. I’ve never banked on it, and I’m afraid of people who do. Luck to me is something else: Hard work—and realizing what is opportunity and what isn’t.

Thank you Saparis. I’m having a hard time figuring out which one is correct. Honestly, having a hard using the correct preposition. How about the phrase: 1.) in my mind; and 2.) on my mind? What’s the difference?

In my mind means “according to my perception” or “in my iimagination.”

In my mind, I’ve always considered New York to be nicer than Chicago.

On my mind means in your thoughts.

She’s been on my mind lately.

Never mind means “don’t bother.”

You can also have a mind, meaning you would like to.

I’ve have a mind to tell him what I think. (This is more of a colloquialism, though)

I am looking forward to the weekend.

how about I am looking forward for the weekend?

No, I don’t think so.

I stay at home on weekends.

how about I stay at home in weekends?

In England, neither is correct.  We would say: “I stay at home at weekends.”

How to use in the night and at night?

Prepositions are difficult in any language, especially since we have so many idiomatic expressions that make use of them in odd ways.

At night is used to mean occurring during the night, with no specific night in mind.
Vampires come out at night. I go to work at night.

During the night can refer to a specific or an unspecific night.
She awoke during the night. We always hear noises during the night.
This use is synonymous with at night when used to refer to regular occurrences that happen at night (or during the night).

In the night is uncommon but is used to refer to something specific.
She awoke in the night to find someone standing over her bed.

Generally, use at night for unspecific events and during the night for specific ones.
