Before I log out, I just wanna share a good and very common euphemism that not-so-cheap products/goods and salespersons love to announce:
free
—> included in the price
—> an advertising gimmick seeking to persuade a buyer that more is being handed over than has been paid for. A prospective purchaser may also be offered a separate article which is described as being free as an inducement to buy what the seller is peddling.
examples:
chocolate drink powder with 20 grams free for a dollar (ka-ching!)
haircut with free massage for 15 dollars (ka-ching!)
hotdog sandwich, buy 1 take 1 for 2 dollars (ka-ching!)
steak with free side dish for 2 dollars and 95 cents (ka-ching!)
The list is endless.
