. . . because sometimes it’s either “uniformity” or “homogeneity” to oppose in semantic terms—as they so often say: “Go figure, just go figure!”

University is not so black and white, it depends on the level of your collegian.

How many collegians does it take to make a college?  And how many colleges to make a university?

How many collegians does it take to make a college?

That all depends, of course, if one half a standard collegian reckons as well—say “two & a half”!

And how many colleges to make a university?

But even more importantly, does it also mean we have to reinvent a whole new manner of speaking glib: e.g. “Give it the old ‘university’ try or my old ‘university’ sweetheart!”

Collagen is actually just a way of getting rid of wrinkles.  Melanin would have been funnier, but it didn’t fit.

An old boiler who used to be a collegian would be a gelatin.

Touche to both of you.
I was thinking of the way college and university have both been watered down like so much else.  Oxford is the University with its colleges that comes to mind.
Here in my hometown there is the school that essentially taught typing (now: keyboarding, whatever). It called itself a collge.  Now it teaches other computer
skills and calls itself a university. Pathetic. A good dose of collagen needed.

Would a group of colleges all huddled together be a “collage”?

And if a university derives some of its meaning from the word “universe,” why isn’t a college a “planetarium?”

And if I have a degree from Pluto Planetarium, has it been revoked because of the reclassification of our former ninth cousin?

And if the powers that be in astronomy reclassify Pluto again to be something even less important than a planetoid, would that make Pluto a first cousin twice removed?

You have a degree from Pluto Planetarium ?  Far out !

Less important than a planetoid is not worthy of comet.

You have to think BIG: just because Pluto has been reclassified as a dwarf, along with cousins Ceres, Eris, Quoaor, and Sedna, it must be what is within you. Don’t
let others put you down.

If its true that Pluto has been reclassified as a dwarf, he should be getting in touch with Snow White in another thread.

I’ll send Pluto a message and let him know that his kinsmen are on the forum. Hope he’s not to mopey to reply.

Probably not too mopey. He has his big son Charon to keep him company, and two new little one: Nix and Hydra, newly found. They will keep him busy.

You’re becoming downright celestial. I knew you were quirky, but quarky?
