Truly if our most superstitious human race—so accustomed to elusive paradox and idle speculation—held firm that special purpose indeed lay behind such hermetically shrouded mysteries as said very foreboding, q-Celtic cie bash or “cap of death” though perhaps not so much to conceal just one boorish henchman’s true identity from sworn vengeance or violent reprisal, as rather to observe the condemned man’s dying request for either woolen hood or lengthened skullcap that also comes with no discernible peep-holes to cast a posthumous “evil eye” through, especially where concerned onlookers are sure to gather around, nor does it even have some clear mouth opening for him to spit back and effectively seal any perditious curse upon those wretched individuals who but for sheer grace of Almighty God still figure to carry on afterward, only as his surviving contemporaries instead!
