Sorry I can’t help, otherwise I would. I, myself don’t speak Bulgarian…

But there is another member named bandito, who is very talented in the language field. Perhaps he can help translate what you’re looking for.

Just look through a thread until you see the smiling face of a huge silverback gorilla. He is proficient in languges.
And you might try yahoo:babelfish   http://babelfish.yahoo.com.
Perhaps, also
if you put the whole
Bulgarian poem here on the site, someone will know the language.

ok thanks
here are the words

Several metaphrastic dictionaries online appear to corroborate one another:

вик = vik ordinary Bulgarian substantive meaning “cry, shout; bawl, call, scream, vociferation, yell.”

Babelfish won’t translate it as they have not Bulgarian to English. Let’s hope some Bulgarian speaker appears.

I have thus far identified one distinct passage from Holy Scripture as written in medieval OCS Glagolitic script, which just so happens to be the Old Bulgarian or Macedonian dialect—proud grandsire of said modern idiom.

Glagolitic script. If the passage is Scripture, it sounds ominous, with the words you have already identified: cry, shout, bawl, scream, yell, etc.
I’ll be interested to see what you come up with. And since it is a song, who knows?

Her charming li’l poem will no doubt be forthwith dismissed as uncategorically profane, while said biblical passage was very likely gleaned from the even more familiar Holy Gospel—ominous to unrepentant heretics and infidel Turks only!

Thanks for the info.  I too believe the Gospel and want nothing to do with heretical or blasphemous comments or “songs”.  There is enough of that around.

. . . only the very dire price of living in a repressed Orthodox Christian community or hailing from such a backward E. European nation like rough’n'tumble Bulgaria—nothing personal, dear old heart, just out to liberate those who are inwardly contorted that’s all!
