At the present, the poor phrase is deprived of any meaning until someone recognizes the language.  And it ain’t me.  But I am interested to see if it goes anywhere.

I think it may be Hebrew, but I don’t know what it means.

Am I wrong or did you start the thread on eternal vs. everlasting?  Sorry if I am wrong, but I cannot seem to find it.  Any help appreciated.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH.
I get lost much of the time and can not retrace my steps.  And considering how the conversations wander, I just remembered
I thought you contributed to that discussion.
I am very appreciative your taking the time to find it for me.  Happy New Year.

It looks Scandinavian.  “og” gets a few hits in Danish and Norwegian.  Olaf Palme used to be Prime Minister of Sweden.

And there was Og king of Bashan, whom the Israelites encountered on their 40 year trek through the wilderness. But this word, at least on my screen is “od’
Odd it ain’t Og.
(Aren’t I the smart one this early in the morning, where it is late afternoon in the middle east., Sorry for the cynicism).

ani od paam mishtafen

ani = אני modern Israeli Hebrew “I”

od paam = עוד פעם “again” cf. ex lingua אף פעם af pa‘am “never”

mishtafen = perhaps one Yiddish corruption of a rather malodorous loanword from original German Misthaufen “dungheap”:

Now with zero Heb. copula, “I’m (a) dungheap again!”

I replied to this once earlier today, and it seems to have disappeared.
But I was thinking, bandito, that you are really opening yourself up with this one.  Yet it is an amazing conclusion.
Wish I knew languge like you know it.

I admit hoping to be thus mistaken, but always European and now modern Israeli Yids have really been well known for such very profane candor—n.b. common Yiddish humor so popular among stand-up comedians even today!
