No offense taken, bandito, with above discussion. Even I understood entry #74 above. When someone takes the time to put things out I get it.
Kanji, hiragana, katakana,Romanji. I have not a word of Japanese, but that makes sense, believe it.
When you say you have yet to explain the unusual choice of the bold face type, you mean, I assume (and forgive me for assuming) why you use
the name, or just the bold face?
Sean:
Dont’ know what to say about your picture, but I watch too much Law and Order and CSI’s to make much comment. But then I don’t have any picture on
my profile.
This picture was an accident, but a funny short story.
One of my Community Service jobs in school is taking pictures for the school year book with some other people on the same project. When it came time for me to get my own picture taken, the photographer was my best friend, John. Funny guy. I don’t think what he said is appropriate for this web to share. I wouldn’t say the words he used myself. But it caught me off guard. I laughed and couldn’t stop. And just when we thought I had contained myself…I bursted out laughing again. And -CLICK- the picture was taken.
あなたの日本人はよいのbandito。 教師か。
(Your Japanese is good, bandito. Teacher?)
1. あなた = anata which can only be the polite hiragana spelling of generic pronominal form きみ kimi “you”
2. の = no enclitic particle denoting possession: あなたの anata no which means “you · POS” ergo “your”
3. 日本人 = nihonjin meaning in elaborate kanji orthography “Japanese (people)” though perhaps really intended here to be 日本語nihongo “Japanese (language)” v. supra
4. は = ha when just one isolated hiragana character, but here serving rather as Japanese topic marker wa only without peremptory translation thereof.
5. よい = yoi attributive, terminal Japanese i-adjective meaning “good”

Good,yet, weird memories…
Hey we all have special moments and fun ones too, that become memories for life. It’s a good story. (But still does not
give anyone an image of you. But that too, can be an identity. After all, who needs it? And I don’t have one on my
site. Don’t have an adequate picture, first of all, secondly would not know how to get it on the WOTD site if I did.
One addiction at a time. I’ll learn later.
Yeah. Not sure why. Just been something I’ve wanted to do.
Taught High School for over 30 years, all levels, grammar, history and often times substituted for anything,
(even gym)!!!
If you think you can handle it, go for it. Kids are kids, and all need attention, love and someone who cares.
And they can tell if you are serious or not in that department. Also taught all grades from Kindergarten up,
and found 5th grade my favorite elementary level, you know, the ‘tweens”. So open and eager.
Since all I have to do to graduate is Community Service hours (I already got over 21 credits and paassed the OGT), I’ve been helping teachers all around the school. I see Sean on the same project as well as the photography for the Year Book. He is sometimes assigned to go to the same room as me to help the teachers teach the students. I just like doing it.
I just abhor seeing poor people sitting at cubicles in front of computers. All day long. Maybe they like it, but with teaching it is different every day. And you
get to see growth every day. Just to see the eyes of a young person light up when they “get it”, is worth all the effort. I’ll never forget it.
Luke, you should try and figure out a “smiley” with that look - it would be a welcome addition to a limited pallette. The grin on your own avatar gives the same impression. Best not try and interpret the grin on mine!

Dont’ get me going on the smile on your avatar. It has “Intrigued” me for a while now.
And where do I find these smileys?? And then, more difficult here, how would I apply it? Remember the
trouble with the avatar to begin with.
Awaiting your reponse with avid anticipation.
