Yes, this topic is contained in a thread elsewhere: words that end in ough.  I contributed to it.  Hiccough is common here when spelled out, like in newspaper.

I posted it here since it sounds like. he he he!
Anyway, hiccough is spelled with -cough, but the pronunciation is [-cup]
