Quite right as you so arduously maintain “immediately at once” constitutes this obvious flagrant redundancy in written speech; my own formal experience, however, with somewhat telescopic Latin studies has very wisely taught me, if anything here merits passing interest, how advanced composition in modern English likewise ought to address the equally ponderous question of eloquent style, much as it already does that of perfect grammar: Thus seminal diagram when once. . . then should even feel less barren or crampy than plainly rustic when. . . then and be well put to such deliberate but excellent use!
