A gimballed sundial that rotates clockwise in the southern hemisphere and counterclockwise in the northern hemisphere.
I have recently read in numerous places that in the southern hemisphere things do not rotate counterclockwise. I am mystified (as per usuam) does anyone really know?

Imagine the equator as a belt running between two pullies, then draw the belt constantly from east to west and you’ll get the idea.
That is amazing imagery: thanks, really helps !!!
