Since English comes from the British Isles, I thought I’d share this description I received from a friend of mine, who said it was told to him by a South African immigrant of English descent:

Description of the British Isles:

The Welsh, who pray on their knees, and on their neigbors;

The Scots, who always keep the Sabbath, and whatever else they can get their hands on;

The Irish, who don’t know what they believe in or why, but are absolutely determined to die for it;

The English, who are certain they are a self-made nation, which relieves The Lord God of a truly terrible burden.

Being of partly British descent, I feel qualified to say—in the healthy spirit of laughing at oneself—That’s funny!
