If you are to write a style analysis of a certain author, how would you do it? What steps in your research would you make? How would you organise it?

For instance, writer’s syntax, lexics, all the important for his style of writing, figures of speech… Any form, grammatical structure used that is known, that keeps repeating itself in the given work…
Any tips? smile

Some ideas:

These are all very different examples.  It sounds like it is up to your teacher/instructor as to exactly what is expected of you.

I actually don’t have to write any research paper on the subject, but I’m very interested in the method of style studying.
