Web-scouring Agorans may like to check out a search engine that was recommended me. It’s uses a clustering technique to categorize search results. Also, and very conveniently, you can preview results from inside the search page. I like it.

You can find it here: www.vivisimo.com

This is not an advert; merely a tip to curious but busy Agorans.

Interesting search engine.

But it returned under 200 hits for "NSU Ro80," whereas Google returned some 1,200.

Kartoo is a search engine that displays its results contextually rather than serially.

While we’re at it, I also suggest Teoma.com.

Agreed. Google is far more comprehensive. Almost too much so. It’s tiresome having to plough to Page 12 to find what you wanted.

I find Vivisimo is better for straightforward searches where I need to weed out all the crap quickly.

Kartoo is interesting, but it takes a little bit of getting used to.

Teoma was new to me (thanks Tim). I’ll be checking it out.

Jeez, soon we’ll have to have an engine to search through all the search engines.  ;D

Just for fun, I tried my old friend Lycos today. Haven’t used it in years. To my dismay, I found my screen filled with irritating pop-under windows advertising God-knows what garbage. Ugh! If I want anything to pop, I’d prefer to pop it myself, thankyouverymuch.

Does anyone know a good British web-portal?

I vote for Traitors’ Gate at the Tower of London.  ;D
