Congratulations to Tim. With 2000 posts, I think he deserves a small thread of his own.

I am so proud. {sniff, sniff}

And he is so modest, he didn’t even mention it to his family!

He would have hit 2000 months and months ago, but he has to fight with a 7 year old, 4 year old, and a mean ol’ wife to use the computer.  I think most of his 2000 posts have been added just before dawn.  ;)

2,000+ posts and 99% of them erudite. The 1% were just smilies, if I recall. grin

Congrats, Tim. You get the M&M Award.

Gosh, folks… I didn’t realize there had been even more posts here!

I was able to bring Shannon back to the fold after she was experiencing some, shall we say, personality conflicts with some folks at another board.  I told her that she just needs to come back to the Agora, because we are the most civilized board out there, and she wouldn’t have to deal with that crap here.

;D

I appreciate everyone’s time and feedback in this forum.  You are all a special group of people, and I really mean that in the best way.

[quote author=KatyBr link=board=omni;num=1068798726;start=0#8 date=11/24/03 at 19:24:40]Its funny but all the other boards Except for the HGTV ones are awfully rude.

???Hmmmmm… funny?  Well, funny in a "Jerry Springer is funny" sort of way in which  funny can mean a horrible, nasty commentary on the human condition.  It sort of reminds me of how disappointed I was, initially, when I first read the "Divine Comedy".  ;) Ultimately, however, I liked it much much better than I like most online bulletin board communities.  I have found a couple that are worthwhile, though.  I haven’t been to the HGTV ones… I’ll have to check them out!

Indeed, my experiences are similar. I joined a language forum that shall remain nameless. I one post, I made an attempt at dry humor. Immediately I was pounced upon by some harridan who thought my jocularity was a personal attack. She suggested that, if I was intending to be funny, I might use emoticons. Or humor.

Silly cow. If it had meant anything to me, I might have replied using the full force of my low sarcasm and wit. As it was, I found the whole thing ludicrous and moved on.

Conclusion: other forums are nasty places. smile
