Last summer I was studying a lot of phonological and sociolinguistic information about the US and Canada, and then I started to notice all sorts of local accent features in people’s speech. And then, I thought that since I can recognize accents now, other people should too. And so we have this site:

It describes all the important features of North American regions, has a few sound files demonstrating hard-to-describe features, has a huge collection of interesting links, and of course it features a discussion board. Feel free to start a conversation because people from other forums like this one are going there.
And after a few weeks your ears are going to quickly become more observant.
