If you think that sounds interesting, that’s why I created this huge site.  Last summer I was studying a lot of phonological and sociolinguistic information about the US and Canada, and then I started to notice all sorts of local accent features in people’s speech.  And then, I thought that since I can recognize accents now, other people should too.  And so we have this site:
http://students.csci.unt.edu/~kun

It describes all the important features of North American regions, has a few sound files demonstrating hard-to-describe features, has a huge collection of interesting links, and of course it features a discussion board.  Feel free to start a conversation because people from other forums like this one are going there.

And after a few weeks your ears are going to quickly become more observant.

Thanks,  It’s an interesting site,  North American speech is interesting to me,  especially the New York area,  because when I moved there I actually had trouble understanding my native language, but now I only become confused if I travel a hundred miles outside of the city.  Or a couple of miles into another borough.
