Hey, how about putting together CDs of old postings and selling them? The Agora’s Greatest Hits 2002! 2003! And on beyond zebra! One lovely archive of knowledge and laughs on a disk, all yours for just $9.95 (plus shipping and handling, and applicable taxes, etc.). Heck, I’d buy it! Even if the stuff is available online, it’d be nice to have it in convenient packages to stuff in the file ‘o backups. But then, how to handle threads that span the years? Mind boggling…

I like it!

This will strike a raw nerve or five, but as with all published material, the postings should be at least lightly edited for typos and the like. I’d even suggest substantive editing to more closely focus the content on language issues—though leaving in clever asides.

I question the size of the market for such a product and also wonder about the preliminary costs of designing a CD cover and other promotional efforts. Too, if the market isn’t large enough to automate the process of burning the CDs, and packaging and mailing them, there’s little point in making the effort.

Maybe better to offer an annual collection by download, straight from the site.
