Is it possible to write in font size such as 10.5 pt.? Some fonts just look much better in this variant.

I’ve sent a PM to Brad but he doesn’t respond.

What fun, Nymann.  How do you get that moving effect?

Nymann,
Worrying about the font size in points is a bit pointless (pun intended). We all have different screen resolutions or use different text size settings so, although in your computer half a point makes a difference, it will not necessarily do so in our machines.

I don’t think screen resolutions have anything to do with it. Maybe browsers…

But Verdana 10.5 pt. bolded is very nice… And Tahoma 9…

I don’t care if other people cannot see it; it’s important that I do. Possibly they don’t even care.  ;)

If you are using MS Internet Explorer, and go View/Text Size it will change all the sizes of the fonts in the screen. I normally use it in a bigger setting to give my eyes a rest. If you can change the resolution of your screen from say 1024x768 to 1280x1024 the fonts will change size again. People using Macs and PCs will have different fonts installed too. And on top of that, you have the different default settings for browsers.

Is there a way of displaying other characters than the miniscule set US engineers know? In a post I made today, there were three letters in one word, which I could not write properly (one c-hacek; two vowels with breve signs). Also, I sometimes have wanted to use macrons on vowels etc.

Another problem, just a few days old: In my first posts, I got a lot of y-doubledot (probably for CR/LF) in the preview when pasting texts prepared in MS Word f W. When I went back to editing, they were shown in the editing window, so it was not very complicated to get it right.

But a few days ago, something happened. In the preview, there were lots and lots of &-codes which did not appear in the editing window. I want to write in Word, so I can use my kbd shortcuts, and the spellchecker to correct my numerous typos.

If the answer is RTF(:friendly)M, please tell me where I can find it; otherwise, please give me some hints.

Anders, I don’t think there are any easy answers for you.  I expect part of what you are experiencing is a result of using an International (read: non-U.S.)keyboard.  The other part is due to the fact that this "bulletin board" software doesn’t support Unicode (and, again, certain characters that are usable with Unicode are not usable with the character set offered by this BBS).

I think I got that last point right, but Stargzer or uncronopio would be more familiar with those details. wink

. . .

The short answer is "No."  the size tag uses integers.  We played with this once long ago.  Here’s a quick test.  It seems to bottom out at size=1 and top out at size=7.  What the heck, that’s a good binary number!
