Pleased to see the YD site back online after a week-long hiatus. I was almost at my wit’s end (yes, I only have one wit) looking for some other fine site to plague with my banalities about this and that. Noone else would put up with me, though.  ;D

Thanks PW,

Of all the people I worried about you folks most.  I know that for you this is more than just a site for information.  Believe me, we will try our best to not let it happen again.

Well, in lieu of WOTD we could start Idiom of the Day with the first contibution being "s h i t  happens". I find that statement to be particularly true when it comes to computers, servers, networks in general, and ex-wives.  ;D

Give me a break PW, you collect wives the way most people collect postcards. It seems like you go to a country, get married, decide to leave the country, ditch the wife. And then you bad-mouth each and every one of them. To me it seems as though the problem is not with the wife…

I’ve been married once. If I fell in love I’d do it again. I don’t really mean to offend, except hearing you say bad things about women who have no chance of defending themselves here really has begun to annoy me. Not majorly, just enough to make me sigh in pain.

Ah…back to the Agora. AgDrgn, I don’t recall ever saying anything specifically bad about any (or either) of my exes. As to:

go to a country, get married, decide to leave the country, ditch the wife.

,

I lived in Sweden for 20 years. Pretty slow progress for a prospective Bluebeard, I’d say. You almost make me sound like some trans-continental stalker/lothario. I don’t subscribe to that view or to that persuasion.

No need to sigh in pain. Why not, instead, accept the remark in the spirit it was given, in the same vein as "take my wife, please". While you may not regard the humor as award-winning, at least it lends a certain lightness to the discussion.

Finally, I daresay my exes have plenty to say about me, and they’re very welcome to do so in whichever fora they happen to feature.

OK, OK, you girls stick together.

Nothing defensive about me, by golly. Didn’t I see someone talking bad about me in that usenet group about six months ago? Was that paranoia? No, sir. And last week, walking past the water-cooler, didn’t everybody stop talking kind of sudden and start giggling? You can talk about defensive all you want. I mean, what’s the Department of Homeland Security all about if not defense? All I know is, I’m getting me a .357 Magnum and a hearing aid. See what they want to talk about then.

A big thank you to Stargzer for messaging me just now and letting me know it was alive again!

And I see the rest of the regulars have nothing else to do with their lives, either… wink

Mere words cannot describe the anxiety caused by the downing of the Agora!

PW, this morning I was listening to the Bob and Sheri show, and their chat was about people who dumped their significant others, only to find later in life those significant others gaining fame or fortune… Makes me wonder if any of them are sitting back at home, wondering whatever became of ol’ PW. raspberry

P.S.  Happy to see you all again, and boy did I miss you guys! smile

PW misses his ex-wives:  they keep jumping out of the way at the last second.

Beware, PW:  The Navajo believe everything happens in fours.

The Navawho? An echo from the trashcan of history? Fours? Ridiculous. I’ll stick with my threes theory, thankyouverymuch.  :)

*stares in horror at the task before her, going through an entire week’s worth of posts after getting home from various adventures*

Oh well, it’s summer, I have time to kill anyway. Glad to see the Agora’s back up. I was starting to worry - I barely spend any time online besides email, and this. Perhaps I should capitalize THIS, because THIS gets the lion’s share.  :)
