Welcome to yourDictionary’s Agora, the new webspot for the meeting of minds fascinated with the whims and fancies of words. Since founding A Web of On-line Dictionaries in 1995, I have responded to more than 20,000 of your e-mail messages. The more I have talked with you, the more I understood how much those of you who have written have in common. This forum, this Agora, was designed as a place to develop those common interests.
We hope those of you who have visited our website over the past 2—or 7—years enjoy meeting each other. I am convinced you will. Please come often to either speak your mind about language or listen to the rest of us speak ours. Take a look at the rules of the game so that you understand that only civil communication will be allowed here. This will be a place to practice and hone your language skills while learning more about the language you and others speak, whatever that language might be.
We will have special guests discussing special topics at Agora from time to time. Dr. Language, Dr. Himes, and others at yourDictionary will always be around. However, we anticipate you will create your own fun here by simply sharing your own knowledge and insight about your language or your dialect.
Thank you for your support over the years. Please enjoy the Agora for many more to come.
