DMH1953,
I thought it quite interesting to find that the Greek word for "forgive" aphiemi (af-ee’-ay-mee) is used in two biblical passages in the same way. I have heard it said also that in its original source or root, it also had connotations of the word meaning to "exhale" or to breathe out, as in the last of the cycle of osmosis.
In these two passages; the word "forgive" and the phrase "yielded up" is the same identical root word in the Greek.
This, I am sure is not the complete thing that you are looking for, but it is interesting nonetheless.
Mark 11:25
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
Matthew 27:50
Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
