I’ve read somewhere that the word its is a "recent" innovation/invention that has supplanted the form his, which was also used for neuter nouns. That makes sense to me, since Germanic languages I have some knowlegde of have the same form for the possessive both in the masculine as in the neuter, cf. German sein, Dutch zijn, Swedish dess (unlike Danish, which keeps dens and dets apart. Maybe there was an assimilation at play with Swedish, but that’s pure speculation). Again, Swedish and Danish (and possibly also Norwegian, which I don’t know) also have hans and hennes/hendes for people and "higher animals", but that’s not the case here.
Sometimes I have the impression that I post the same thing over and over again, a déjà vu. If I ever really do that, would you guys let me know? (I’m not kidding here.)

As Yogi said,
It’s deja vu all over again.
Don’t worry BD , it’s merely the foot-falls of approaching senility you hear….

Is it really a déjà vu? I’m starting to get worried about that. Should I get a brain scan? You, Henri, the doctor, give me your profession opinion (great, I’ll save some money).

But I still don’t know if it’s only a déjà or if I have really posted more the same topic more than once.

BD, there were a number of cases, on different threads, where there were two consecutive identical posts from you.
Could be that most of these were some kind of Agora glitch, because looking at your last 50 postings I can only find this pair .

No, two consecutive posts don’t count, maybe it was an Agora glitch. What I’m talking about are threads scattered around.

Well, I think you’ve posted enough about it here to demonstrate a willingness to indulge in such…!

Nah, he’s just showing off his 5 stars, (congratulations, by the way) and trying to give Katy decent competition to 7k.

OK Gailr, now you can absolutely quit posting,
Sorry Katy, no can do; I am on a roll. (Don’t tell Rex, though, or he’ll be wanting to trade me bagels for it or something…)

Stop not, gailr.
The time distance between the 1001st and the last post on this thread is merely 30 minutes. Yet you could somehow post five posts inbetween. You should be feeling great?
