workweek

  1. The standard number of hours an employee is expected to work during a seven-day period.
  2. For purposes of establishing overtime pay, seven consecutive 24-hour periods. For example, an organization may define its workweek to begin at midnight on Sunday and run through 11:59 P.M. on Saturday.
