Wide Area Telephone Service (WATS) definition - business
Wide Area Telephone Service (WATS)
A telecommunications service offered primarily to commercial users at a fixed rate or a special low rate. The service may apply only to incoming calls, only to outgoing calls, or both. For example, a food manufacturing company may use a WATS service that allows customers to make free (to the customers) calls to the firm.
