trial offer definition - business

trial offer

An offer by a manufacturer, distributor, or service company to a potential customer to try a product or service without charge. Trial offers often require the recipient to cancel within a specific time in order to keep from receiving additional merchandise or services at the regular price. For example, a publisher might offer three free issues of a magazine, after which the recipient must either cancel or be billed for a subscription.
