trial and error definition - business
trial and error
A process of experimenting with different possibilities in an effort to determine which option works best or produces the desired outcome. For example, a company might try several options for packaging a new product in order to determine which option produces the most sales. Those options that do not produce satisfactory results—the errors—are rejected.
