Torrens System

Torrens System definition - business

Torrens System

A system for the registration of real property such that a buyer can rely on the name showing on the land title. The Torrens System allows a purchaser to buy property without a title search and without concern about the manner in which the seller became an owner. This system of land registration is popular in Australia, parts of Canada, and in some states of the United States.
