registrar

  1. A firm that updates stock records using information sent by the transfer agent. Essentially, the registrar makes certain that the issued certificates correspond with those that have been canceled.
  2. A business that is authorized to enter and maintain a record of Internet domain names.
  3. A person or entity in charge of records. For example, a college registrar maintains records of all students during their enrollment.
