quasi contract
quasi contract definition - business
quasi contract
An obligation created by the court in an effort to make things fair and avoid an injustice. For example, if a lawn services mows your lawn rather than the yard of your neighbor who contracted for the service, you will be responsible for the cost under a quasi contract if you watched the company doing the work, knowing it was being done on the wrong property. You will not be responsible for the cost if you were away from home and unaware the service was being performed.
