operating strategy

An organization's tactical plan for achieving its strategic goals. For example, a company begins developing an operating strategy for achieving its strategic goal of widespread distribution of its products in Europe. The operating strategy might include hiring a marketing manager with international experience, identifying European distributors with which the firm might establish a relationship, and redesigning its products to increase international acceptability.
